The AEC is a small program that works hard to bring affordable semester, year abroad and full degree programs to students. This is one reason why the AEC has gone back to its original mission - to offer direct enrollment to Australia and New Zealand so that study abroad is indeed within the grasp of North American students.
We have launched the My Study Australia website so that we provide comprehensive information about AEC semester abroad, year abroad, full degrees, transfer and internship programs in Australia and New Zealand.
Today more than ever, student debt is at its highest level ever. The AEC believes its vision to bring direct enrollment opportunities to students is necessary to overcome the obstacles of going abroad. Furthermore, the AEC believes that some schools encourage direct enrollment to overseas accredited universities as a way of encouraging most of their student body to take up an abroad option during their undergraduate years. The AEC direct enrollment service underpins that commitment because students can utilize direct enrollment even whilst using AEC services free of charge.
An important element of the AEC program is the service it provides and the prices it charges students. To gain an insight into the service we provide - what works, what doesn't, etc. we need student feed back as well as student involvement in the way we structure our program. The AEC now provides its students an opportunity to participate in an AEC Consultative Group (similar to a formal Committee). Those who participate in this group will do so as a means of truly contributing to AEC policy. All input from this Group will be gathered electronically to save time and money. (No one in this group will need to travel anywhere to check out services as returned students have already been abroad to Australia or New Zealand and studied at an accredited university through the AEC program so their support will be seen as invaluable to the policy direction of the AEC.)
The Consultative Group will provide on-going advice/support to the AEC program so that feedback about what services are important, what services aren't important, pricing and other issues are dealt with through the consultative process with students.
