Some universities do offer scholarships for their international students. These scholarships are however, limited. When considering scholarships, note the following:

• There are a few scholarships offered by universities for international students.
• Most scholarships on offer to international students relate to research based programs (Masters and PhDs); very few universities offer scholarships for undergraduate and even other programs such as semester and year abroad study.
• Some universities may have scholarships which are very specific to certain discipline areas e.g. Architecture or Engineering.

Information on each university’s scholarship program is listed on the university’s web site. University web sites are accessible by visiting the section on university profile pages on this site which provides direct connection to the university’s web site.

Students who apply through the AEC program to an Australian or New Zealand university will receive from the AEC, a listing of the relevant university’s scholarships – details of the scholarships and the application process. In this way, students that have applied to go to Australia or New Zealand through the AEC Program, can be assured that where there are scholarships offered by the university, the AEC will encourage students to lodge applications.
