Scholarships

The AEC currently offers the following scholarship programs.

(1) Need-Based Additional Support Scholarships of $500 to $750 for those students currently receiving financial aid from their home schools.

  • Scholarship applicants must provide proof of receiving financial aid from home school.

(2) Academic Merit Scholarship of $500 for those students that demonstrate a higher than 3.4 cumulative GPA.

  • Scholarship applicants must provide an academic reference

(3) The Adria Cronk Memorial Scholarship for students from the University of California system (3 housing scholarships of $1000 each).

  • Adria Cronk participated in an AEC Semester Abroad program during 2003. She was a talented student who was well regarded by her Australian faculty as well as at her home school, UC Davis. On her return from Australia she was diagnosed with cancer and died a short time later. Adria was 21 years old at the time of her death. Like many students today, Adria found that finding money to go abroad was no mean feat. Eventually sheer determination won. To fit within budget, she became creative: she moved into housing with an Australian family which was way off campus and chose to commute to campus, thereby, cutting her housing costs considerably. Given that there are many students who face the same issues related to funding their study abroad, the AEC will offer 3 scholarships for $1000 each in memory of Adria Cronk.
  • Scholarship applicants must be current students from a university within the University of California system.
  • Scholarship applicants must provide an academic reference.
  • Scholarship applicants must provide a 1-2 page statement that states how they would benefit through the grant of this scholarship.

Scholarship Conditions:

1. Participation in the AEC scholarship program is available only to those students participating in an AEC semester or year abroad program.
2. The grant of a scholarship is not automatic.
