There are two types of packages on offer through the AEC. You will be invoiced for a `meal plan’ if your choice of housing has a meal plan included:

Notes:

• Whilst the AEC makes every effort not to vary prices, sometimes this is unavoidable due to exchange rate fluctuations or notification from universities or housing providers that their fees have increased. Therefore AEC  may adjust fees. Should there be an adjustment in fees prior to departure, the student will be provided an option to withdraw with a full refund of fees paid to the AEC.
• If students stay a year abroad, they will need to pay double the above cost, less a discount. Students will however, need to allow for additional housing/meal funds to cover them for the holiday periods between semesters. The discount will not be available until second semester.
• In the case of universities with multiple campuses, the AEC has listed separately individual campuses if they have varying housing prices.
• Where a housing option incurs a meal plan, the AEC will invoice you separately for the component related to a meal plan. The cost of a meal plan depends on the university housing allocated to you as not all housing establishments within a university offer the same meal plan – some may have 14 meals per week; others 21 etc
• Some science, engineering, lab and specialist classes can incur additional surcharges.

You should also have sufficient funds to cover:

• Study books (allow about US$300 for a semester)
• Visa fee payable to the Australian Government (approx US$380)
• Incidentals or spending money based on your requirements (AEC suggests approx. US$1500)
• Money for meals.
• Allow for housing application fees, administration fees and refundable housing deposits of US$200-500. You will be required to pay for any telephone/internet connection and/or use.
• International and Domestic travel (allow for US$1450-1700)
